CopperVille takes Centerstage

Be inspired by our exhibit held last October in the College of Home Economics. this 5-day event gave me and my blockmates a chance to share our creativity and talent in creating accessories. this was considered as our final project and we were said to be given two awards after. Mai Flores "Bite Me" created spaghetti beads (yummy!); Coreene Cular "Ebony and Ivory" created black and white products (sooo audrey hepburn); Kate Tud "Under the Sea" made very unique shells; Joseph Bawar "Wonderland" made funky bags with pearls (love them!); Myk Villanueva "...Gadgets?" from scraps of electronic devices to very useful accessories; Francis Galias "Feathers" created oh so girly accessories out of feathers and he won best collection (soo madonna!).
martha rodriguez, well, mine is "Copperville". i made crazy yet elegant pieces - necklaces, bag, watch, cuff, hat, belt, shoes and earrings out of... you guessed it... copper (sheets, rods and wires!). as you can see in the pictures these accessories were created uniquely -- i was awarded the most creative accessories and of course, i got a 1.0 grade. yeah!!! so fabulous!!!

martha creates

My idea of being fashionable is staying true to one's self, bringing the uniqueness within us... because in this lifetime we were brought in a way of individualism... we have our own IDENTITY.

I am a junior student taking up Clothing Technology (more than just a fashion degree course!) in University of the Philippines Diliman. I have studied and gone through the principles of design - from eccentricity to illusions, basics of sketching human figures with or without clothes - it is always the 8-heads theory but i have yet to regain that theory, ancient costumes - wow, I could figure out what Brad Bitt and Orlando Bloom were wearing in the movie Troy, apparel design - well, I do not exactly know what color would be hot for next season (uh not a fashion forecast, darling!) but I can certainly give you tips and advices and yeah two thumbs up for what you are wearing, sewing and patternmaking (ah I am proud to have made a cocktail dress for myself.. not that easy!), merchandising and that stuff - for those who want to start a business in the market, i highly recommend Why We Buy by Paco Underhill (this book will surely help you increase your sales!) and hopefully learning much much more!!!!

Thus, you guys should take Clothing Tchnology too!!! Then, you will learn the kind of IDENTITY I am taking about!

Welcome and hope you'll enjoy this page.
